Learning at Monte
Learning is a dynamic and life-long process, in which students have individual needs. A number of programs assist students to be effective, independent and confident learners.
The Powerful Learning Program is an integral part of Year 7 and continues into following years. In this program there is an emphasis on the development of advanced thinking, co-operative learning, research skills and metacognition for all students, regardless of their ability. These skills help our students understand their own learning and assist in the development of independent study. The Gifted and Talented program provides exceptional students with extension opportunities in Maths, English and Music. Students can take part in specialist activities such as Future Problem Solving and Tournament of the Minds. The Academic Support team provides assistance for girls with learning disabilities.
The College is at the forefront of e-learning and provides a rich digital environment. Technology is integrated into all areas of the curriculum to enhance learning. Over 300 desktop and laptop computers are available for students to use in the class. Computers are connected using wireless technology to the school intranet and the internet. |
