Sport

The College operates a 'Sport for All' platform, which encourages a high level of participation and offers of a wide variety of sports for both competition and enjoyment.
Each individual student is graded into the appropriate team to develop the potential of each participant. Fitness and skill training are held every week. Coaches are all specialists in their sport and come from a variety of backgrounds including older students, parents, teachers and Alumni.

Aerobics is a competitive sport that concentrates on fitness, strength, co-ordination and flexibility. The program caters for students from beginners right through to elite level Aerobics. Training is conducted one morning a week in Terms 1, 2 and Term 3.
Traditionally the College participates in the following competitions:
Term 2 Aeroskools
Term 3 CGSSSA Dance & Aerobics Competition
Any student who wishes to be involved will be eligible to compete in the Aeroskool Competition. Trials for the Representative Teams are held in Term 1. The CGSSSA Dance & Aerobics Competition is a one day competition for our Representative teams. Representative teams are selected to compete in two divisions: Advanced or Novice. Training may increase to two sessions per week leading up to competition.
Athletics is open to all students who wish to improve their fitness, technique and performance. Trainings are held on Monday and Thursday afternoons in Terms 2 and 3. All Track and Field events are catered for; Sprints, Hurdles, Middle Distance, Jumps and Throws.
The Representative Team is selected based on results from the School Athletics Carnival and the IGSSA Friday Night Warm Up Carnivals.
Basketball takes place on Saturday mornings during Term 2 and Term 4. Teams are selected based on age and ability. Training is held once per week.

The NSWCCC Championships and the CGSSSA Gala Day are one day Representative Team competitions. Representative teams are selected for three age divisions; Junior, Intermediate and Senior.
The IGSSA Competition takes place on Saturday mornings in Term 2. Monte students play against girls from other independent private schools in and around the Sydney Metropolitan area.
The Santa Sabina Competition takes place on Saturday mornings in Term 4. Monte students play against girls from other independent schools in and around the Sydney Metropolitan area.
The College competes in the CGSSSA Gala Day which takes place in Term 4. One Open Age Representative team is selected.
Students who are interested in playing cricket on a regular basis are encouraged to join their local club team.
Monte has recently introduced structured dance lessons for students from beginner to advanced. These classes are held weekly and are open to any student who would like to learn dance or improve on their current skills.
The school also enters Representative Teams in Jazz, Creative and Contemporary genres. These girls participate in local eisteddfods and the CGSSSA Dance Competition in Term 3.
Hockey takes place on Saturday mornings in Term 2 and Term 3. Grading is held in Term 1 and teams are selected based on age and ability. Training is generally held once per week.

The North Shore Women's Hockey Association Competition and the IGSSA Competition take place on Saturday mornings.
The CGSSSA Gala Day is a one day Representative Team competition. Representative teams are selected for three age divisions; Junior, Intermediate, Senior.
Netball takes place on Saturday mornings during Term 2 and Term 3. Trials are held at the beginning of Term 1 and students are selected based on their age and ability levels. Training is generally held once per week, however elite teams may be expected to train twice a week.
Students are also strongly encouraged to become involved in coaching and umpiring.

The CGSSSA Gala Day and the NSWCCC Championships are one day Representative Team competitions. Representative Teams are selected in three age divisions: Senior, Intermediate, and Junior.
The College competes in the CGSSSA Gala Day which takes place in Term 1. Representative Teams are selected for two age divisions; Junior and Senior.
Students who are interested in playing soccer on a regular basis are encouraged to join their local club team.
Softball takes place on Saturday mornings commencing at the end of Term 3 and continues through Term 4 and Term 1 the following year. Trainings are held once per week.

The CGSSSA Gala Day is a one day Representaive Team competition. Representative teams are selected for two age divisions; Senior and Junior.
Monte offers a number of swimming squads. Competitive training for the School Representative team, as well as fitness squads throughout the year. The Monte Swim Team is selected from the results of the school swimming carnival and various invitational carnivals. Whilst training is year round, the main representative season occurs in Term 4 and Term 1 of the College calendar.

Tae Kwon Do is held once per week throughout the year. Students may participate in Semester 1 or Semester 2 or both.
Tae Kwon Do involves kicking and punching with the aims of improving physical fitness as well as increasing knowledge of the arts of self defence.
Tennis takes place on Saturday mornings in Term 1 and Term 4. Trials are held at the end of Term 3 and students are graded in to teams according to their ability levels.

The Tildesley Shield is a prestigious knock-out style tournament conducted by IGSSA over three days. Representative players are entered in singles and doubles in this open-age competition. The squad trains throughout Term 4 and Term 1.
The CGSSSA Gala Day is for Representative players in singles and doubles and is held in the following divisions: Open, Senior, Intermediate and Junior.
Touch Football is played either mid week or on Saturday mornings and students are selected based on their age and ability levels. Trainings are generally held once per week; however elite team may be expected to train or play twice per week.

Teams compete in the Northern Suburbs Touch Competition during Term 4 and 1 on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons in Artarmon. The top teams from each age group also compete in the Eastern Suburbs Competition on Saturday mornings at Centennial Park in Term 4 and 1.
The CGSSSA Gala Day is a one day Representative Team competition. Representative Teams are selected in the following divisions: Senior and Junior.
Volleyball takes place on Saturday mornings during Term 4. Teams are selected based on age and ability. Trainings are held once per week.

Waterpolo takes place at various times throughout the year. Grading takes place prior to the start of each competition and students are selected based on their age and ability levels. Team training sessions are generally held once per week.

The CGSSSA Gala Day is a one day Representative team competition. Teams compete in the following age divisions: Senior and Junior.
Yoga takes place once per week throughout the year. Students are taught to use breathing and relaxation techniques to alleviate stress and improve flexibility. Classes are held on Friday mornings and students may join at the beginning of each term.
