For 150 years, our College has proudly been a pillar of excellence in North Sydney, dedicated to the education and empowerment of young women.
As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we reflect and pay tribute to the visionary women and men who believed in the importance of establishing a school in the heart of North Sydney under the care of the Sisters of Mercy.
More than 2,000 people gathered with great joy as members of the Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College community, past and present, came together to mark, prayerfully dedicate and celebrate with thanksgiving the commencement of this momentous sesquicentenary year, 2025.

On Friday 21 February 2025, the sculpture of Mother Mary Ignatius McQuoin, foundress of the College and Sisters of Mercy North Sydney, was unveiled and blessed as part of the Sesquicentenary Mass.
She now stands proudly on the Holy Grass, overseeing our peaceful sanctuary in North Sydney.

The staff and students of Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school is situated.
We acknowledge the Cammeraygal people of the Eora Nation and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who visit our school.
